My friend Christine has a pied à terre in Paris, and a few years ago she generously invited another friend and me to come spend a week with her at her lovely apartment. The apartment is on the Ile St. Louis, a two minute walk from Notre Dame, and right on the Seine.
To commemorate the visit and to say thank you I stitched for her a little vignette of her apartment. From the front bedroom, this is the view one has.
Inside are the lovely silken draperies tied back with elegant passamenterie. Two small art works are to the left and just outside the window is a typical French guard rail. Then one sees the heart’s blood of Paris, the Seine, and a bateau mouche dashing by, only partially visible in this scene. Across the river is the left bank and one can look for many blocks into Paris. On the left is the Monde Arabe(the Arab Institute) and in the distance several other buildings of the city
The apartment is called Maison a Trois because it is co-owned by three couples.
