Realistic shading is the essence of beauty in the finest pieces of canvaswork. Learn to produce these realistic effects in your own needlework in a single day of lessons.
We will begin by learning to produce shading with the easy and most effective ombré technique. We will also study the method for producing shaded effects using the tent stitch. Finally, we will also use the very versatile split encroaching Gobelin stitch to produce a shaded effect.
All these techniques are combined in a single embroidery depicting charming wishing well. In addition to learning the shading techniques, instruction will be given in embellishing your wishing well with flowers, with emphasis on color and texture value to effect foreground and background. As time permits we will complete the scene to make an attractive miniature.
